Over the past  years I have built many rod cases using two types of piping which I then  wrap with finished leather. I first used PVC pipe 2 inches in diameter. It works very well, it is also a bit heaver than Aluminum pipe. I personally prefer Aluminum pipe, it is light weight and if one has to carry your case on a camping trip or backpacking trek the weight can make a difference. Here are the features of a leather fly rod case.

·          Top grade Leather 5-6 oz in weight.

·          Aluminum Pipe or PVC Pipe can be used, I obtain Aluminum Pipe from a supplier in Lakewood Colorado. Different diameters available.

·          Case is custom made to your specifications, it can have your name, initials, or different stamping or nothing at all. It is up to you what you would like on your case.

·          Leather can be dyed or stained in various colors.

·          Stain colors available include

  • 1.     Saddle Tan , 2       Chocolate Cherry , 3.       Mahogany, 4       Tan, 5      Light and Dark Brown,

·          All cases can be hand sewn or laced with top quality leather lace .

·          Brass or Chrome hardware is used for straps.

I can also have your name or logo lazered on to your case giving it a very professional look to the case, for an example look at the black leather cases under examples of leather cases.

  • Adjustable Leather Strap to match case.
  • Bottom Cap is laced or hand sewn for a lasting fit.
  • Top cap is laced or hand sewn but can be removed and slipped back in place after removing your fly rod.
